Kaantha trailer on on special day, Censor Clears. Dulqer Salmaan is starring in a film titled Kaantha. Selvamani Selvaraj is directing the film which has 1950s Chennai backdrop.

According to the latest, the makers are planning to release the film's teaser on Dulqer Salmaan's birthday on 28 July. The teaser has the duration of 2 min 14 sec and promises a rich, period-style glimpse into Bhagavathar’s world.

Selvamani Selvaraj shot to fame with the Netflix documentary The Hunt for Veerappan. He is making his debut as the director on the big screen with Kaantha.

Kaantha is based on the life of M.K. Thyagaraja Bhagavathar, known as the first superstar of Tamil cinema.The movie is backed by Rana Daggubati’s Spirit Media and Dulquer’s Wayfarer Films.

Rana speaking about Kaantha, said “Each story decides who its actor is in some manner, and everyone is right for a certain role… The second I heard it, I didn’t see anyone but Dulquer in it. So I was like, if he was not in it, we probably wouldn’t have made the film."

Bhagyashri Borse and Samuthirakhani are playing important roles in the film.
