Tourist Family story revolves around a Srilankan family comprising of husband, wife, and two children who lands in India and try to make a living by starting their life afresh overcoming all hurdles. Tharmadas (Sasikumar) along with his wife Vasanthy (Simran) and his children Nithushan (Mithun Jai Shankar), Mulli (Kamalesh Jegan) migrates from Srilanka to Chennai and tries to make a living.

Where this leads to and what difficulties they face and how Prakash (Yogi Babu), Richard (MS.Bhaskar), Raghavan (Bhagavati Perumal), Gunasekar (Elango Kumaravel) and Kural (Yoga Lakshmi) are connected form the rest of the narration.

Sasikumar is known for this kind of role. He came up with a natural and realistic performance. He steals the hearts of all in the role of father who is unable to give good life to his children and family.

Simran came up with a stellar performance in the role of a housewife. Her dialogues, expressions and emotions are intact and spontaneous to make a powerful impact. She said many things just with her expressive eyes and captivating smile.

Kamalesh Jegan as the youngest son appeals to all with his performance. He with his screen presence and dialogue delivery elevated the scenes to the next level.

Mithun Jai Shankar is fine with his performance. Though he did not get much screen time, he emoted well when he got his chance in the second half. Yogi Babu as usual with his natural demeanour impressed all with his acts.

Others like MS.Bhaskar, Bhagavati Perumal. Elangao Kumaravel and Yoga Lakshmi did justice to their roles as per their screen time.

Tourist Family story is penned by Abishan Jeevinth. Abhishan Jeevinth's story is simple but he blended it with strong emotions to cast a magic spell on viewers. He highlighted the emotions and humour and made sure that the narration doesn't turn extremely preachy. Many such films came earlier with similar stories but Abhishan turned out to be different, balancing the emotional and touching elements.

Viewers will not only get entertained but also leave with a heavy heart when the film ends making them wonder how the film came to an end in such a short time. Very rarely viewers get such a feeling and when it does, the entire credit should go to the director and his talent and ability to narrate with spellbinding screenplay and direction.

He scored points with his writing and the dialogues are so natural that at times people smile without their realisation. At times, sentiments and emotions go overboard and few logics go missing but those things could be ignored.

Sean Roldan with his music elevated the emotions perfectly. His background score is in sync with the storyline and takes viewers into the story in a soothing way. The cinematography of Aravind Vishwanathan showed the scenes in a natural and appealing way carrying forward the feel. Barat Vikraman's editing is good. Production values are decent.

Altogether, Tourist Family is a touching and emotional family entertainer. Aravind Viswanathan came up with a decent family story and got the optimum from the cast and crew. He connected chords with the movie lovers with the screenplay and dialogues on the screen. He included all kinds of emotions and also made viewers ponder in a few scenes. Considering all these elements, Cinejosh goes with a 3 rating for Tourist Family.
