Exhibitors, Distributors, Producers decide to resolve issues without theatres shutdown

Tensions rocked Tollywood when exhibitors threatened closure of theatres from 1 June 2025 as their demands of  percentage share system versus rent along with others haven't been met.

Today morning, more then 40 distributors met at Telugu Film Chamber at 11 AM and held discussions. Then later at 4 PM , Telugu Film Chamber met with the producers and then both the distributors, exhibitors and producers came to a conclusion to resolve the issues without resorting to the closure of the theatres.

It is known that more than 1500 exhibitors from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana have been demanding percentage in box office collections over the rental system for the past few months.

They have arrived at this decision as earlier decision to shutdown theatres to resolve issues pertaining to Cube system disputes and production halts over artist remunerations did not get the desired results.
