According to Anantapur Superintendent of Police Manish Kumar Sinha, RGV was scheduled to watch the screening of his film at Krishna theatre along with his costars. He had asked for police protection and this has been duly provided.

As some TDP leaders issued warnings to RGV, sensing trouble, did not turn up for the screening of the film, the police said.

Meanwhile, Paritala Ravindra’s widow Sunitha stated that Varma has betrayed her by releasing the film without arranging a special screening for her before its release.

She stated that RGV had promised to arrange a special screening for her while shooting for the film.
