Darshan Judicial Custody Extended till August 28

The 24th Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate court in Bengaluru has extended the judicial custody of Kannada Star Hero Darshan, his partner Pavithra Gowda, and 15 others until August 28 in connection with the sensational murder case of Darshan's fan, Renukaswamy. The prosecution submitted 11 reasons for not granting bail to Darshan, citing concerns that the powerful accused may threaten or lure the family members of the deceased, who hail from a humble background.

The prosecution also submitted that the evidence collected so far proves the involvement of all the accused, including Darshan, in the murder and conspiracy to divert the case. Furthermore, the investigation of more people is pending, and reports from the Forensic Science Laboratory and the Central Forensic Science Laboratory are awaited regarding digital, technical, and scientific evidence. The police also need to record witness statements before the court, and releasing the accused may lead to them threatening the witnesses.

Sources reveal that the police are in the final stages of preparing a charge sheet against Darshan and others, and that stains of Renukaswamy's blood were found on Darshan's clothes. Additionally, blood was found on the slippers of prime accused Pavithra Gowda. The gruesome murder of Renukaswamy took place on June 8 in Bengaluru, where he was kidnapped, tortured, and killed over allegedly sending obscene messages to Pavithra Gowda.

The incident came to light after security personnel saw the body being dragged by dogs, and Renukaswamy is survived by his aged parents, pregnant wife, and sister. The police investigation revealed the involvement of Darshan, Pavithra Gowda, and others, leading to their arrest and ongoing judicial custody. The case has sparked widespread outrage, and the court's decision to extend their custody reflects the seriousness of the charges against them.
