List Of Bollywood Films Under Making Helmed By South Directors

South Directors making Hindi films is not new. Though there are only limited films where Bollywood directors made south films, Telugu directors like Raghavendra Rao and Murali Mohan Rao directed several Hindi films. But, recent developments earned star status for south filmmakers in Hindi land. The current trend starting with Baahubali 1 & 2, continued with KGF 1 & 2, and Pushpa. This is further solidified by scoring huge blockbusters Jawan by Atlee with Shahrukh Khan and Animal by Sandeep Vanga with Ranbir Kapoor. Now, several Bollywood films are under making directed by south directors.

Salman's Sikander With ARM

AR Murugadoss has ventured into Bollywood 15 years ago itself and delivered first Rs 100 crore grosser in Indian Cinema collaborating with Aamir Khan for Ghajini. Then only he tried to make Ghajini with Salman Khan but things didn't happened. Now, Salman gave green signal to Murugadoss's story and they are making 'Sikander' which is slated to release for Eid, 2025. Salman is already doing a film, 'The Bull' with another Tamil director Vishnu Vardhan.

An Unexpected Reunion

Director Shankar has already directed a Bollywood Film, Nayak with Anil Kapoor which is a remake of his blockbuster Oke Okkadu / Mudhalavan in early 2000's. He has announced his Aparichitudu / Anniyan remake with Ranvir Singh in Hindi. But, that movie got shelved and plans are on to make a Tamil novel as film with Ranvir. Meanwhile reports are circulating that Shankar planning to make sequel to Nayak with Anil Kapoor.

Bunch Of Remakes

Malayalam filmmaker Roshan Andrews is making 'Deva' with Shahid Kapoor which also co-stars Pooja Hegde. The film is slated to release in October. There are speculations that this film is a remake of Malayalam film Salute starring Dulquer Salmaan. Shahid also announced 'Ashwatthama : The Saga Continues' with Kannada director Sachin Ravi. Varun Dhawan is remaking Vijay's Theri / Police as Baby John in Hindi directed by Tamil director Kaalis which co-stars Keerthy Suresh and Wamiqa Gabbi. Atlee is producing it. Apart from these films Akshay Kumar is making Sarfira, a remake of Suriya's national award winning film Soorarai Pottru / Akasham Nee Haddhura with its original director Sudha Kongara.
