Vyooham producer challenges Court Judgement. The producer of the film 'Vyuham' has lodged an appeal with the Telangana High Court challenging the orders of a single judge that nullified the clearance certificate issued by the Censor Board for the movie.

This legal action comes in response to a petition by the Telugu Desam, alleging defamation against the party and its president, N. Chandrababu Naidu. The single judge, on January 22, revoked the clearance certificate and directed the revision committee to take further steps.

Expressing dissatisfaction with the single judge's decision, Dasari Kiran Kumar, the proprietor of Ramadhutha Creations, the film's production company, filed an appeal against the ruling. The appeal was scheduled for a hearing on Thursday before the Division Bench led by Chief Justice Alok Aradhe. Senior counsel A. Venkatesh, representing the appellant, argued that a political party lacks juristic entity status, thus having no legal standing to file a writ petition against the movie, especially in the case of defamation against its president.

The senior counsel also contended that Section 499 of the Indian Penal Code should not be applied to an offense tried under common law. He emphasized that determining a movie's defamatory nature merely based on a trailer is unfounded. The bench issued notices to the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) and the Telugu Desam, scheduling the appeal for a hearing on January 30 to reach a decision on the matter.
