Mahesh Vitta's Uttutta Herolu, directed by Harsh Kodali is releasing on 27 Feb 2026. Let us see how the film entertained movie lovers.
Uttutta Herolu's story revolves around four friends who dream of becoming heroes but their mission fails and how they deal with the developments thereafter. Chandu (Mahesh Vitta) and his friends (Walter Vinay, Rahul Raj Vanam,Ganga Chitikala) hail from Proddutur, and their debut film gets stalled in the middle due to a lack of funds. Under these circumstances they get a surprising offer. Where this leads to and what twists it comes with when Chandu gets smitten by the beauty of Sonemma (Praveena Sony) and what role Sampangi (Thanu Konidela) and Rami Reddy (Hara Prasad) play form the interesting part.
Mahesh Vitta plays his role with sincerity. He came up with good mannerisms and dialogue delivery. His body langauge is good. Praveena Sony played the role of the female lead aptly. Hara Srinivas is ok in his role. Walter Vinay, Rahul Raj Vanam, Ganga Chitikala are fine in the roles of friends. Others like Thanu Konidela, Tarak Satish, Bharat Behera performed according to their roles.
Uttutta Herolu story is penned by Harsha Kodali. He tried to come with a comedy crapper in the backdrop of the Rayalaseema region. For the entire first half, he tried to introduce various characters and took his own sweet time which ended up testing the patience of the viewers. The first half ends on a predictable and decent twist, setting the tone for the second half.
The second half continues in the same vein and finally when the film ends, viewers heave a sigh of relief. Harsha Kodali concentrated on highlighting the mannerisms of Mahesh Vitta and to some extent he succeeded but in the process he failed to come up with strong and powerful characters.
The slow pace in the narration and the double meaning dialogues and few cheap scenes made the viewers disconnected with the story completely. The story turned out to be weak and screenplay and direction didnot offer anything new.
The music of John K Joseph is below average. The songs fail to register in the minds of the viewers. He however, added value to the story with his background score. The cinematography showed the locations in a natural and realistic way. Dialogues are loaded with double meaning. Production values turned out to be below standard.
Altogether, Uttutta Herolu turned out to be a tasteless comedy treat. Mahesh Vitta came up with a honest attempt to introduce more than 75 newcomers. However, Harsha Kodali's story turned out to be weak and screenplay and direction turned out to be substandard. He should have taken care of the script before proceeding ahead with the project. Considering all these aspects, Cinejosh goes with a 1 rating for Uttutta Herolu.
