As Tollywood is flooded with numerous releases on 7 March 2025, to celebrate the occasion of International Womens' Day on 8 March, Naari is releasing to celebrate the women empowerment and upliftment. Let us see what impact, Naari created on movie lovers.
Naari story highlights the powerful tale of how a woman fight against the oppressors and inspires others in the process. Lecturer Bharathi (Aamani) takes a stunning decision so that no others will undergo the pain and agony she suffered due to no fault of hers. Where this leads to ,what are the consequences, the role played by Lawyer Sarada (Pragati) form the interesting part of the narration.
Aamani played variety of roles and she showed her acting prowess in different genre roles and entertainers. She came up with her best performance in this role in the film. Her screen presence, expressions and emotions makes a powerful impact and her performance especially in the climax is spinechilling and makes everyone ponder and lose in their own thoughts.
Nityasree played a small role but made an impact with her performance. Karthikeya Dev got good screen presence and this helped in driving home the message in a powerful manner in the end. Mounika Reddy played an important role and is good in her performance.
Vikas Vasishta played the role of a typical villain but he tried his best to bring novelty with his mannerisms and expressions and dialogue delivery. The director however should have explored his character even more in an in-depth manner. Others like Pragati, Kedar Shankar,Sunaina, and Pramodhini did justice to their roles.
Naari story is penned by Surya Vantipalli has a powerful message. The way he delivered the message in the climax is commendable. He showed Aamani in a completely new way surprising everyone. Surya might have came up with a good story but failed with his screen play as he concentrated only the message in the climax and shock element rather than on concentrate on the powerful script as the director.
Many discussions happen about women safety, upliftment and also how to prevent the atrocities going on in one way or the other. However very rarely a solution is shown and the solution and message shown in the climax must be appreciated. However, the director should have paid some attention to the screenplay and given a quality output, the result would have been different.
The songs tuned by Vinod Kumar is good. RP.Patnaik and Suneetha gave emotional touch to the songs with their voices. However, he failed to elevate the scenes with his background music. V Ravi Kumar & Bhim Samba's cinematography is decent but the budget constraints could be seen in coloring, DI and other effects. Editing of Madhav Kumar Gullapalli could have been better. Production values could have been better.
Altogether, Naari turns out to be decent attempt highlighting the atrocities on women and sending powerful message to the society. Director Surya got the optimum out of Aamani and showed in a never seen before and shocking manner. He also stuns all with his climax. However, he failed to come up with the decent screenplay and script. Had he worked on these two elements, things would have been different. Considering all these aspects, Cinejosh goes with a 2 rating for Naari.
