Akshay Kumar who is known to churn out patriotic entertainers, recently entertained all with Kesari Chapter 2. The film, which was released on 18 May, turned out to be a hit. Now the film's Telugu version is releasing on 23 May 2025. The film directed by Karan Singh Tyagi is inspired by the real life incidents. Kesari Chapter 2 OTT rights have been acquired by Jio Hotstar. Let us see how the film entertained Telugu movie lovers.

Kesari Chapter 2 is inspired by real life incidents and shows the developments in the aftermath of the heinous Jallianwala Bagh massacre.  Shankaran Nair (Akshay Kumar) , former President of the Indian National Congress and lawyer for the British Government, after the Jallianwallah Bagh massacre, drags General Dyer (Simon Paisley Day) to court, filing a case against him.

Where this leads to and how Dilreet Gill (Ananya Panday), British advocate Neville McKinley (R. Madhavan) and Parvaty Nair (Regina Cassandra) are connected form the rest of the narrations.

Akshay Kumar came up with a terrific and power-packed performance in the role of Sankaran Nair. He carried the film on his shoulders showing subtle emotions and expressions. Ananya Pandey is good in her role and made an impression. Madhavan showed his talent in the role of lawyer Neville McKinley. He is perfect in the role of the British advocate.

Regina Cassandra supported Akshay Kumar in the role of Sankar Nair's wife. Others performed according to their roles.

Kesari Chapter 2(2025) Movie: Technicians Review

Kesari 2 story is based on ‘The Case That Shook The Empire' by Pushpa Palat and Raghu Palat.  Karan Singh Tyagi stayed true to the narration and did not deviate from the story in the name of commercial elements. He narrated the incidents and consequences and the developments in the aftermath in a realistic manner connecting chords with the movie lovers highlighting the emotions.

The dialogues depicting the court proceedings are riveting and impactful and reverberate. The screenplay goes in a smooth and sedate manner. However, the narration is extremely slow and Karan Singh Tyagi took his own sweet time starting the narration before entering into the conflict point. The pre climax and climax could have been shown in a more powerful manner.

Nitin Baid's editing is ok but could have been better as there are scenes that dragged the pace of the narration. Cinematography of Debojeet Ray is good. He showed the pre Independence, British era in a realistic and natural way. The background music of Shashwat Sachdev, Kavita Seth–Kanishk Seth elevated the scenes adding value to the proceedings. Production values are good.

Kesari Chapter 2(2025) Movie: Rating Analysis

Altogether, Kesari Chapter 2 turns out to be an interesting and impactful historical drama. Director Karan Singh Tyagi got the optimum out of Akshay Kumar and Madhavan and by staying true to the facts and narrating it in a gripping way; he managed to keep the viewers interest levels intact though the pace of the narration turned out to be true. More racy screenplay and drama would have added punch to the film's final result. Considering all these elements Cinejosh goes with a 2.5 rating for Kesari 2.
