Dies Irae (The Day Of Wrath) story revolves around a rich kid and the shocking experiences in his life involving his girlfriend. Rich kid Rohan Shankar (Pranav Mohanal) while partying with his friends in Kochi gets a shock of his life and this leads to startling experiences in his life. What are those experiences and how it is connected to his girlfriend Kani (Sushmita Bhat), Madhusudhan (Gibin Gopinath), Elsamma (Jaya Kurup), Manu Philip Sebastian (Shine Tom Chacko), Kani's brother Kiran (Arun Ajitkumar), her mother (Sreedhanya), father (Madan Babu), her friend (Anagha Ashok), priest (Saheer Mohammed), Vinoy (Swati Das Prabhu) Tess (Athulya Chandra), form the interesting part of the narration.

Pranav Mohanlal impressed with his expressions and emotions. He attracted with his performance and especially while showing fear, he makes an impact. He with his performance took viewers into the narration making them experience the story with the feel.

Sushmitha Bhatt, though played the female lead, didnot get any screen presence, and she is confined only to stills in the photos. However, one feels her as she played the pivotal role in the narration.

Gibin Gopinath not only enacted horror and comedy but also carried the film forward with his role. Jaya Kurup turns out to be a surprise package, and viewers will enjoy her performance. Others performed according to their roles.

Dies Irae (2025) Movie: Technicians Review

Dies Irae story is penned by Rahul Sadasivan. He came up with a simple story but emerged successful in scaring the living daylights out of everyone. Rahul Sadasivan showed scenes in such a manner that they have the stunning impact on the viewers.

He even elevated the emotions in the scenes balancing the fear and feelings in a perfect manner. He didnot deviate from the main plot and the climax twist and the lead to the sequel increased the curiosity levels.

The narration starts in a slow and steady manner but once the chacracters are introduced from then on, gripping screenplay captures the imagination of all.

The film comes with strong technical values. The technical crew emerged successful in giving good and captivating cinematic experience to the viewers. Christo Xavier gave thumping background score to elevate the scenes to another level. The cinematography of Shenad Jalal showed the scenes in such a manner to scare viewers and increase the fear factor giving a spine chilling experience. Sound design, mixing and VFX is terrific and prosthetics are top class.

Altogether, Dies Irae stands out to be the best horror film. Pranav Mohanlal came up with good performance and director Rahul Sadasivan got the optimum out of the cast and crew to create a terrific impact. Rahul Sadasivan with his racy screenplay and direction and without any deviations in the script emerged successful in terrifying viewers on the big screen.

It has been a longtime since viewers are treated with genuine horror films. Of late filmmakers started blending horror and comedy and this is diluting the essence.But Rahul Sadasivan concentrated only on horror genre and created a stunning impact. Considering all these aspects, Cinejosh goes with a 2.75 rating for Dies Irae.
