Om Shanti Shanti Shantihi Movie: Story Review

Om Shanti Shanti Shantihi story revolves around a young and aspiring girl who faces restrictions throughout her life and how she deals with the adversaries and emerges successful. Kondaveeti Prashanthi (Eesha Rebba) an aspiring and bright student, much against her wishes, is married to Ambati Omkar Naidu (Tharun Bhascker) by her parents.

Where this leads to and what role, her father (Sivannarayana), Omkar Naidu's uncle Rama Rao (Brahmaji) and others played form the interesting part of the narration.

Om Shanti Shanti Shantihi Movie: Artists Review

Tharun Bhascker once again proved everyone wrong with his performance. Many often criticised him why he is concentrating on acting when he is known for his direction, witty dialogues and handling unique subjects with interesting screenplay and script. He reprised the role played by Basil Joseph in the original. He with his dialogue delivery, expressions and body langauge managed to impress all. He with his screen presence generated few laughs to take the story forward.

He showed variations in his role bringing his innocence and at times cruel side according to the situation. He even made an impact delivering dialogues in Godavari accent.

Eesha Rebba is good on the screen. She looked good and beautiful in traditional manner and impressed as an aspiring girl whose ambitions are crushed by people around. She also enacted few stunts and also did well showing the girl's silent courage in tough situations.

Sivannarayana is good in the role of father of the girl who gets influenced by the advices of the people surrounded by him. Brahmaji made his presence felt in the role of the protagonist's uncle. Brahmanandam appeared in a key role in the climax. Others performed according to their roles.

Om Shanti Shanti Shantihi Movie: Technicians Review

Om Shanti Shanti Shantihi story is readied by AR.Sajeev.The story is the remake of Malayalam hit Jaya Jaya Jayahe which released in 2022. Though the story is from Malayalam, AR.Sajeev ensured that it connects chords with the Telugu movie lovers adding Telugu nativity and Godavari region and accent.

In this he emerged successful and he should be commended for it. He didnot make much changes to the original story but took due care to add Godavari accent, their wit and worked hard to give a fresh feel. Though at times, one can easily find the original shades, the performances of Tharun Bhascker and Eesha Rebba ensured that this willnot turn into a drawback.

The first half starts at a snails pace and one wonder where this serial type narration takes viewers into. But the entry of Tharun Bhaskcer changes everything and from then on narration moves ahead smoothly till the interval twist. The screenplay turns out to be decent. The second half sets the stage for the face off between the male and the female lead and it is handled quite well though at times, the scenes are dragged a bit. Finally with few emotional scenes and the interesting climax, the story ends on a decent note.

The background score of Jay Krish added value to the narration. It gave a fresh feel and takes viewers into the story. The cinematography of Deepak Yaragera captured the Godavari locations in a beautiful manner and gave a realistic feel to the proceedings. Editing is decent enough though at times there are few drags and at times impacted the flow of the narration. Dialogues are good and production values are fine.

Om Shanti Shanti Shantihi: Advantages

  • Tharun Bhascker, Eesha Rebba
  • Cinematography
  • Dialogues

Om Shanti Shanti Shantihi: Disadvantages

  • Slow Proceedings
  • Familiar Story
  • No Real Highs

Om Shanti Shanti Shantihi Movie: Rating Analysis

Altogether, Om Shanti Shanti Shantihi turns out to be a decent entertainer. Tharun Bhascker and Eesha Rebba came up with spirited performances and director AR.Sajeev did justice to the Malayalam remake Jaya Jaya Jayahe. Those who watched the film, find it nothing new and boring but those who haven't seen it will enjoy it, though at times, the narration dragged a bit. Had the film been original, Tharun Bhascker and Eesha Rebba would have been credited with a decent hit. However the remake brought down their spirited performances a little bit.

But Sajeev should be commended for doing full justice for elevating the Telugu nativity in Om Shanti Shanti Shantihi and managing to entertain viewers with the remake. Considering all these aspects, Cinejosh goes with a 2.25 rating for Om Shanti Shanti Shantihi.
