Adivi Sesh who is known for his exciting espionage spy thrillers is now coming to entertain with the film titled, interestingly, Dacoit A Love Story. The film is helmed by Shaniel Deo and is releasing on 10 April 2026.
With Adivi Sesh coming on the screen after a longtime, excitement is on. Amazon Prime has acquired the OTT rights of Dacoit A Love Story for a fancy sum. Let us see how Adivi Sesh thrilled movie lovers as a dacoit.
Dacoit A Love Story revolves around a youngster who experiences shocking experiences in his life, following which he takes a daring decision.
Hari (Adivi Sesh) gets a shock of his life from his girlfriend Juliet aka Saraswati (Mrunal Thakur). Where this leads to and what roles Karunya Hospital founder (Prakash Raj), Malli (Kamakshi Bhaskarala), CI Rambabu (Anurag Kashyap), SI Janaki (Zayn Marie Khan), CI Prasad (Sunil), Ishaq (Atul Kulkarni) from rest of the developments.
Adivi Sesh as usual put in lot of effort for his role. He underwent a makeover over his looks and mannerisms and managed to entertainn to some extent. He performed his role with intensity and sincerity. He delivered dialogues according to the situation. But his role and performance at times reminds people of other heroes from previous hit films.
Mrunal Thakur looked good on the screen but at times, she failed to create the required impact especially during the emotional scenes. Anurag Kashyap, Bollywood star who made his debut in Telugu, was introduced in a powerful manner but his role later turned out to be a caricature.
Kamakshi Bhaskarla got confined to intimate and hot scenes which she had been doing in previous films. Prakash Raj,Atul Kulkarni and Sunil failed to make an impact. Even Aamir Khan's niece Zayn Marie Khan got an inconsequential role.
Dacoit movie is penned by Shaniel Deo and Adivi Sesh.Adivi Sesh set high expectations with his previous works and but right into the narration, viewers will be wondering that things are falling apart. The entire first half is spent on highlighting the relationship between the lead pair.
One expects a terrific interval bang like all Sesh's films but this even that goes missing much to the disappointment of all. Many expected a better second half but it plunges even further. The entire second half goes for a toss and the director must have thought that the emotional climax will leave all in tears. But instead it turned out to be dragged and silly and forced.
The story turned out to be weak and so did the screenplay. Shaniel Deo failed to do justice to the direction.
Couple of songs tuned by Bheems Ceciroleo are appealing and situational. They are shot well in the colorful and natural manner. Gyaani's background music right from the start followed the same pattern and failed to elevate the scenes to the next level. Cinematography of Danush Bhaskar is in sync with the story. Kodati Pawan Kalyan's editing is average. Dialogues are ok and production values are grand.
Altogether, Dacoit turns out to be a directionless love story despite the presence of performers like Adivi Sesh, Mrunal Thakur and experienced actors like Anurag Kashyap, Atul Kulkarni, Prakash Raj, Shaniel Deo failed to do any justice. The title itself misleads the viewers and apart from it, the story offers nothing new right from the start.
With lack of twists and high moments and weak character arcs, the director was forced to include an emotional climax, which backfired completely. The weak writing and spineless screenplay played the spoilsport. The makers should have worked on the script and the story before proceeding with the project. Considering all these elements, Cinejosh goes with a 2.5 rating for Dacoit.
