What's Behind

Dhanraj, Sunil's Bujji Ila Raa directed by Anji attracted the attention of all with the interesting teasers and trailers. The film after multiple postponements hit the screens on September 2, 2022. Let us see what Bujji Ilaa Raa offered to viewers.

Story Review

The story is all about the mysterious kidnappings of small children. CI Kesava Naidu (Dhanraj) comes to Warangal and he is faced with the mysterious kidnappings of small children. Even as he is trying to investigate the case, suddenly brutal murders of the children in his police station limits makes the matters worse. As the investigation proceeds, he finds out a shocking revelation. To know more about it and how it is connected to his wife Anu (Chandini Tamilarasan), his father-in-law Sudhakar (Srikanth Iyengar), Khayyum Bhai (Sunil), School Principal (Satya Krishan), Cardiologist (Posani Krishna Murali), watch the film on the big screen.

Artists, Technicians Review

The story provided by G.Nageswara Reddy comes as a surprise as he is known for his hilarious and light-hearted entertainers. He dared to be different and director Anji starts the narration in an interesting manner with the thrilling elements surrounding the killings. Despite a few lags here and there, the first half ends on a decent and interesting interval bang. However into the second half, a few logics go for a toss, and the screenplay and direction lose steam. The pre-climax and climax test the viewers' patience with many scenes getting dragged. Many such crime thrillers came earlier and G.Nageswara Reddy's story though predictable at times, created enough impact. Anji's direction is on the mark for the first half but the duo due to overconfidence, increased the violence quotient throwing the logic out of the park and this impacted the film's final output.

Dhanraj performed well in his role. He played the role of the CI to perfection and also showed good expressions as the father and caring husband. However, at times, his body language did not suit the police role. Sunil played an important role and did well. His role is unidimensional and he carried only one expression throughout the film. Chandini Tamiliarasan showed good emotions as the mother but in the second half, she went over the top with her performance. Srikanth Iyengar performed well in the role of the father-in-law. Others like Posani Krishna Murali and Satya Krishnan performed according to their roles.

Sai Karthik elevated the proceedings with his background music. Chota K Prasad's editing could have been better as there are many drags in both halves. Anji's cinematography is good. Production values are ok.

Rating Analysis

Sunil and Dhanraj's combo and the title Bujji Ilaa Raa generated interest among movie lovers. Anji directed the film which got a soft title. Though viewers knew that the film is a crime thriller, they get shocked by the extreme violence depicted on screen. For all the interesting start, everything evaporates in the second half with over-the-top action sequences. Considering all these elements, Cinejosh goes with a 1.5 rating for Bujji Ilaa Raa.
