Vijay Antony's Bichagadu 2 is attracting the attention of all as the film is the sequel to the Bichagadu, which went on to create a silent sensation. This time Vijay Antony is donning the direction hat and let us see what trick he created and whether he mesmerised all with his talent with Bichagadu 2. The film's OTT rights are yet to be bagged and screening will on after the completion the theatrical run.
Bichagadu story is all about how a poor person aka beggar due to circumstances works for the betterment of the downtrodden in the society. India's sixth richest person Vijay Gurumoorthy( Vijay Antony) , chairman of VG Group in Vishakapatnam, starts behaving weirdly after his return from Dubai.
Why Vijay behaves in an abnormal manner and how he is connected to a beggar Satya (Vijay Antony) from Rajamundry, what is his relation with Hema ( Kavya Thapar), form the crux of the story.
Vijay Antony who cast a magic spell on movie lovers with his realistic performance in Bichagadu, this time entertained all his fans and movie lovers in two different roles. He looked ultra stylish, Uber cool and sauve in the role of the rich business tycoon. He also showed his romantic angle for the first time on screen in the first song.
In the second role as a poor person and as a beggar, bichagadu, he looked natural and realistic. He showed good emotions and also displayed variations showing compassion, anger and courage in different situations.
Female lead Kavya Thapar indulged in red hot glamour treat in the introduction song but later got limited even presence. She showed good emotions in couple of screens.
Other actors got limited screen presence and Yogi Babu,Harish Peddi,Ajay Ghosh,John Vijay,Mansoor Ali Khan, Dev Gill, YG.Maheendran they performed according to the narration.
The story selected by Vijay Antony showed how a beggar when affected by circumstances goes all out, fight against adversaries to reach his mission.
Dialogues are emotional, realistic and thought provoking. He started the narration in an interesting manner of brain transplantation. People have seen such scenes earlier but it excites them. But with in minutes even as viewers think that they are watching something new, the narration assumes routine flavour in the flashback episodes.
But Vijay Antony with his screenplay and direction generated interest highlighting the emotions this time we with the sister sentiment. While Bichagadu highlighted the mother sentiment, Vijay Antony highlighted the sister sentiment.
One may get confused by the end of the first half as what Vijay Antony is upto but Vijay Antony is clear in his thinking. He focused the entire second half on searching for his sister and doing good to the poor in the society and upliftment of the downtrodden. He does a decent job with good story, screenplay and direction.
Vijay Antony handled the music and editing departments apart from the direction. His music did not appeal to me viewers as none of the songs are catchy. Unlike Bichagadu which got a super hit emotional song Amma, the film missed them dearly.
However his background music is better. BGM elevated the scenes giving the right feel to the viewers. His BGM played a major role in enhancing the output quality. He tried his best with his editing. But it turned out to be a mixed bag. At times it looked sleek and at other times there are few drags.
Om Narayan 's Cinematography is good. His camera angles have the right output but VFX is not upto the mark. But he did good graphic work. Production values are good.
Altogether, Bichagadu 2 highlights sister sentiment. Vijay Antony not only blended the emotions with action scenes in a beautiful manner but also highlighted the sister sentiment and problems of the poor. However, uneven screenplay, few unnecessary scenes, played the on spoilsport. Had he fine tuned the Screenplay, the result would have been even better. Considering all these aspects, cinejosh goes with a 2.25 Rating for Bichagadu 2.
