Band Melam (2026) Movie: Story Review

Band Melam story revolves aroud two childhood friends and the blossoming of love their lives and how they deal with the aftermath of the events. Giri (Harsh Roshan) and Raji (Sridevi) being relatives, from childhood nurture feelings towards eachother and even their parents encourage them.

However things change quickly due to some shocking happenings, rocking the relationships completely. Where this leads to and how they deal with them follow the rest of the happenings.

Band Melam (2026) Movie: Artists Review

Harsh Roshan once again came up with a spirited performace. He showed the youthful exuberance in his bodylanguage and the same attitude on the screen. He showed the rebellious side of the youngster who is determined to standup on his own without the support of others under testing and difficult times. He delivered dialogues with ease and showed good expressions and emotions especially during the climax.

Sridevi looked good on the screen and complimented Harsh perfectly. Their chemistry is a treat to watch and the dialogues and scenes featuring them is a treat for youngsters. But they are underutilised in the first half much to the disappointment of all. In the fagend, Sridevi made her presence felt in a subtle manner.

Sai Kumar performed well on the screen. His character is introduced in a powerful and interesting mannner. However much to the disappointment of all, it fizzles out as the narration progresses. The parents of the protagonist made their presence felt and mother made an impression as she got good presence compared to the father.

Those who played the role of friends are ok but they failed to elevate the scenes with their humor. Others performed according to their roles.

Band Melam (2026) Movie: Technicians Review

Band Melam story is penned by Sathish Javvaji. The film's title is somewhat inappropriate for the story. The film's story is predictable and familiar to the stories which viewers watched on the screen  few decades back. Except for the change of actors, the setup remained the same. The new faces of Harsh Roshan and Sridevi Appala make viewers situp and watch expecting them to create an onscreen magic.

However, Sathish Javvaji failed to cash in to their craze as the commercial elements and the screenplay offered nothing new or exciting. The initial scenes of the hero and heroine in their childhood looked outdated but they are saved to some extent with the presence of the lead pair.

The entire first half goes on to highlight the attitude and characteristics of the hero and his aspiration and the blossoming of love. The first half ends in a deent manner setting the tone for the second half. The second half turns serious with emotional scenes but most of them are rushed and this failed to make an impression. The action sequences however turned outto be over the board. However, the pre climax and climax turns out to be decent and makes an impression. Finally the film ends bringing an end to the borefest.

The music of Vijay Bulganin tuned the music and background music. The songs tuned by him are good and youthful. Background score is in sync with the storyline. Cinematography of Satish Mutyala is ok as he showed the scenes in a colorful and natural way but could have been better. The editing of Siva Mupparaju left a lot to be desired. There are many scenes that dragged the pace of the narration as they are repetitive and monotonous in nature. Dialogues are ok and production values are good.

Band Melam Movie: Advantages

  • Couple of Hilarious Scenes
  • Climax

Band Melam Movie: Disadvantages

  • Repetitive Scenes
  • Lack of Emotional Connect
  • Predictable Plot

Band Melam (2026) Movie: Rating Analysis

Altogether, Band Melam turns out to be a disjoint love story. Director Sathish Javvaji tried to come up with a lighthearted youthful entertainer with family elements and few twists. Though he got decent performances from the cast and crew, he failed to take the narration to the next level. This because, the film's story turned out to be routine and predictable and offered nothing new. To the top of it, he failed to connect chords with the viewers as the film lacked the emotions. Repetitive scenes and boring narrationn marred everything. Considering all these aspects, Cinejosh goes with a 2 rating for Band Melam.
