The T-20 cricket world cup final ended in an interesting way when England defeated Pakistan in a rather convincing manner thus crushing the dreams of all the Pakistanis of a repeat of the 1992 World Cup ODI final. The t-20 world cup 2022 final had similarities to the 1992 world cup final as Pakistan and England reached the summit clash in a similar fashion.

In the finals played at Melbourne, England won the toss and elected to field. Both England and Pakistan fielded unchanged teams which won them the semifinals. Right from the start, England put a tight cap on Pakistan's batsmen and Pakistan couldn't cut loose as they did against New Zealand. In the end, Pakistan could only manage just 137/8 in 20 overs which is below par. Babar Azam 32(28), Shan Masood 28(28), Shadab Khan 20(14) are the top scorers. Sam Curran wrecked the Pakistan batting lineup by getting 12/3 in his 4 overs while Adil Rashid and Chris Jordan got 22/2 and 27/2.

England's chase started off on a bad note with Shaheen Afridi getting rid of the danger man Alex Hales cheaply. Jose Butler also got out for 26(17) when he was about to launch into a Pakistani attack. When Pakistan bowlers are making the match of the target with 40 runs required in the last four overs, Ben Stokes got going and the Pakistani attack got depleted with Afridi walking off due to a sprain by not completing his overs. Stokes and Moen Ali completed the chase within a span of ten balls and England reached the target in 19 overs by scoring 138/5. England won the cup for the second time and in the process created a record to become the first team to win the T-20 world cup after winning the ODI world cup.

England fans celebrated the victory like never before and Pakistani fans are extremely dejected. In the midst of all this, Indian fans who dreamed of a Pakistan and India final, however, celebrated the English victory more than the English fans as Pakistan happens to be their arch-rivals, and Pakistani PM Shebaz Ahamed, former players and others came up with insulting comments following India's crushing defeat against England in the semi-finals. England team got tremendous and vociferous support from the Indian fans throughout the match and social media is erupt with Indian fans celebrating the England victory.
