Heavy rains in Vijayawada keep people confined to their houses

Due to incessant rains for the past two days the city of Vijayawada was reeling under the flood waters. The rain water has seeped into the colonies situated in the low lying areas.

In particular the Old city was the worst affected with knee deep waters disrupting the traffic. All the roads in the old city have been water-logged and the traffic has come to a standstill. Most of the schools were closed on account of rains. The impact of these rains was so much in the past two days that the people are not able to come out in the open for any marketing or for any domestic purpose.
