In what is called a sensational move by BCCI and its members; IPL Chairman and Commissioner Lalit Modi is sacked from the duties and Chirayu Amin is appointed as interim chief. Chirayu Amin is president of Baroda Cricket Association and a Vice-President of the IPL’s parent body BCCI.

Lalit Modi was served a 34 page notice of suspension with 22 charges of suspicion. After nearly 2 hours of discussion between BCCI governing body, name of Chirayu Amin is declared unanimously, said BCCI President Shashank Manohar. A team of former Indian captains and current members of the IPL governing council, Mansur Ali Khan Pataudi, Sunil Gavaskar and Ravi Shastri will discuss the strategy for IPL 2011 immediately. In parallel the charges filed on Lalit Modi will be investigated.
