The irregularities in IPL under the chairman ship of Lalit Modi are coming up one by one as BCCI is taking charge of responsibilities. Income Tax Department has struck to their job and BCCI has appointed various officials at all the levels of IPL for smooth probe on all the charges filed.
One among the latest to hit the row is the ownership issue of Rajasthan Royals franchise. Shashank Manohar, the BCCI President insisted that the IPL governing council was not even aware of Lalit Modi’s modus operandi, claimed that the most public faces of Rajasthan Royals, Shilpa Shetty and her Raj Kundra, don't even figure in the shareholding papers of their franchise.
‘We are asking Lalit Modi, how can he sign an agreement with ‘A’ when the bid came from ‘B’? Modi made a statement that the entire world knows who the shareholders are but the fact is that not even the Governing Council members know about Rajasthan Royals. I did not find the names of Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra in the papers and they claim to be stakeholders. If funds are flown from overseas, it is the work of IT department to look into it. There are numerous unidentified company names in the document. Few of the important documents are missing and IT department is buzzing daily about these documents,’ said Shashank Manohar.
Let us wait one more week… IPL may be named as India’s largest scam!
