Indian Premier League (IPL), the wonder game of T20 is an instant success alover the world and thanks to the hard work of undisputed king Lalit Modi. Keeping aside controversies surrounding the tournament, (Often they help in further increasing the cricket mania), here are few random financial figures thata re linked to IPL:

IPL Revenue - Rs. 630 crores/year ( Fees from eight franchises which they pay annually + 20% share of Sony Set Max telecast revenue + Central sponsors like DLF, Vodafone + Youtube and theatre rights)

Of the total Rs. 630 crores, half of amount will account from Eight Franchises who pay 10% of their Franchise’s cost. Total cost of eight franchises this year is Rs. 3,000 crores. Next year this would go up to Rs. 6,000 crores with new joinees Kochi and Pune which means revenue of BCCI may go easily above Rs. 1000 crores with just a month and half of hungama.   

Sponsorship deals this year from a host of new players - Swiss watch Banderlier, Karbonn Mobiles, India Games, Maxx Mobile, MRF collectively worth Rs. 150 crore a year.
