Hyderabad, Aug 12 :

The state government on Wednesday appointed an experts committee to organise the 16th International Children’s Film Festival, which is scheduled to be held from Nov 14 to Nov 20 in the state capital.

The government has appointed a 26 members committee headed by State Principal Secretary Ramakanth Reddy. Information and Publicity Division Commissioner Parthasarathy will act as Vice-Chairman. The other members in the commission are Adiseshagiri Rao, D Suresh and Ramesh Prasad.

The Festival will be organised to bring together and promote films from all over the world, whose main purpose is to entertain and educate children and to help them acquire a more critical appreciation of the art of filmmaking. The exhibition will show case the artistic and humanitarian qualities, which will lead to better understanding between people and cultures.

The exhibition will also encourage the exchange of ideas between film makers and children with special attention to those films, which attempt to foster an awareness of problems faced by children and adolescents.
