Hyderabad, Jan 19:  The Osmania University authorities have cancelled the examinations scheduled to begin on Tuesday in view of the boycott threat from the students.Students of the colleges affiliated to Osmania  University also boycotted the examinations on Tuesday responding to a call given  by the Joint Action Committee of the students. As reported earlier, the OU authorities had proposed to hold the examinations as per schedule from Tuesday.

The students of Nizam College, Saifabad PG College and the Koti Women’s College have stayed away from the examinations and staged a sit-in in protest on their respective  campuses.Police forces were deployed in large numbers on the Osmania University campus  as a precautionary measure to ward off any untoward incident.According to reports pouring in from various Telangana districts, students have boycotted the exams in the day. The students of Sathavahana University in Karimnagar have locked the main entrance and staged a dharna in front of it.

In a similar manner students have boycotted their examinations at Nalgonda, Bhongir and Miraylaguda. Some of them even tore off  their hall tickets and vowed not to take the exams till a separate Telangana was formed.In Warangal, students of Kakatiya University lay siege to the Vice-Chancellor's office demanding postponement of the exams.
