By this time, Sankranthi in our Hyderabad would have flying colorful Patang’s scattered the whole sky. Although stalls are setup in last month to serve the kite and manja buyers, it is just one day away from Sankranthi still the sales are at their lowest ebb, say a shopkeeper.

Old City of Hyderabad, full of ‘Patang’ famous spots like Mahankali Temple and Patang Bazar is even looking dull with no ample buyers willing to purchase either kites or manja.

"Every year by this time we would have had crowds thronging our stalls for kites and manja. But this time we can only hope to recover the amount we've invested, leave alone expecting profits,” said a shopkeeper in Old City who estimated  40 percent slump in sales compared to last year.
