Visakhapatnam, Jan 2: The Terror attacks on the Hotels in Mumbai on November 26, 2008 has exposed the nation’s security lapses and vulnerability to such attacks from the western part of the sub-continent, which can be penetrated through the Arabian sea and hence the Centre seems to have woken up to plug the  loopholes. As a first step to protect the elaborate coasts from Terror attacks, the Centre has decided to strengthen its coast by deploying speed boats.

The Central Industrial Security Force has bought a speed boat manufactured in Dubai which is taking up maintenance work at Mangalore. It is expected to reach here and will be used for patrolling the Visakhapatnam port.Supplied by the Harshavardhan Marine Services, Mumbai, the speedboat costs Rs 1.5 crore and it will be exclusively used for operations and patrolling. The company has bought two more speedboats for the Tuticorin and Ennore ports in Tamil Nadu.
