6 power sub-stations for Khammam dist

Khammam,Dec 25: Efforts are on to set up six 33/11 KV power sub-stations in the district for which the district administrations have been asked to make proposals in select mandals of the district.The proposals for Thimma Rao Peta sub- station in Enkooru mandal and Naikan Gudem sub- station in Kusumanchi mandal were sent to the Government on the suggestion of Minister Rami Reddy and Wyra legislator Banoth Chandravathi.Another sub-station will be built at the Government hospital in Khammam  town. The department officials have written to the district collector for land to set up another sub- station at crime police station. Two other sub- stations may be built at Ranganayakula Gutta and Nagarjuna Sagar Project Quarters here.Meanwhile,many sub-stations have been built at an expenditure of Rs 40 crore for three years but these have not been completed as yet.

Damsalapuram sub- station, which was sanctioned in 2006-07 is being constructed.Mucharla, Thierdala, Pakala Gudem, Naramvari Gudem, Guduru, Brhmala Kunta, Subledu, Karaka Gudem, Madapuram, Dharmavaram, Sujathanagar, Komararam, Laxmipuram, Jeellacheruvu and Garikapadu sub-stations sanctioned in 2007-08 are also being built in the district.The sub- stations sanctioned in 2009-10 are yet to be started. Land was needed to be acquired to build a sub-station at Gangaram in Aswarao Peta mandal, Arempala in Khammam Rural mandal, VV Palemin Khammam Urban mandal and Pereka Singaram in Kusumanchi mandal,its works have not been commenced. Chintha Kani, Vemsuru, Nayudu Peta, Kotha Illandula Padu, Pedda korukondi, Jagannadapuram, Cheemalapadu, Pammi, Marlakunta and Chandrugonda sub-stations were completed.Efforts are being made by the department to complete the pending sub-stations at the earliest.
