Visakhapatnam,Dec 1(INN): Protesting against the fake encounters at Paidepalli,an agency in the district,the Maoists on Tuesday set ablaze three vehicles near Lakshmipuram in Munchangiputtu mandalam.The Naxalites torched three vehicles including a tractor belonging to a contractor,who had taken up road development works in the Agency.According to sources, the tractor was burnt in the incident. The other vehicles—a proclainer and a two-wheeler were burnt partially.The Naxals also stuck posters and banners on the trees stating that they were protesting against the killing of Maoists in fake encounters.They claimed the police were eliminating innocent people in the name of encounters after foisting cases against them.

They said innocent villagers who frequently went to forests to collect firewood in Paidepalli in Pedabayalu mandalam were being victimised.They left a note stating the encounters in the agency were illegal.The posters further slammed the police highhandedness against the cadres and the combing operations being carried out jointly by the Orissa Police and the CRPF Jawans.
