7 trains diverted as wagons derail

Kadapa,Nov 28 (INN): A goods train derailed near the Krishnapatnam railway station in Nellore district on Saturday,disrupting rail traffic on the busy Gooty-Renigunta section of Guntakal division of South Central Railway.No one was injured in the mishap, a Railway official said. The goods train was carrying iron ore from Obulapuram mines to Krishnapatnam port when the mishap occurred.

Consequently,seven Trains-- Venkatadri Express, Rayalaseema Express,Mumbai-Chennai Express,Dadar Express,Chennai Express,Mumbai-Kanyakumari and Kanyakumari-Mumbai Express were diverted inalternative routes.According to the preliminary investigations, the derailment took place due to some snag in the brake levers.However,the exact reason behind the incident is being investigated.Senior railway officials were supervising the repair works which will take a few more hours to restore the rail traffic.
