Visakhapatnam,Oct 29: Close on the heels of strike launched by junior doctors of King George Hospital and teaching hospital of Andhra Medical College, the nurses of Government Hospital for Chest & Communicable Diseases here on Thursday launched a flash strike against Hospital Superintendent.The nurses staged flash strike protesting the Hospital Superintendent Dr Subba Rao’s behavior and for using harsh words against staff nurse Uma Maheshwari.

However,the Superintendent stated that he told the nurses only to allow one person in swine flu ward for looking after the victims as the infection spreads fast.He made it clear that he did not make any harsh comments against nurses and appealed those to call off their strike and attend duties immediately.But the nurses did not relent and continued their strike. Medical services to patients were paralysed as the nurses went on flash strike.
