Talking to media persons after releasing Sslc Supplementary Examination results here on Friday, he said the government is planning to introduce grading system in place of ranking system, which was believed to cause a lot of tension for the students and undue anxiety for their parents and school authorities.

“With the introduction of the grading system, the anxiety, agony and ecstasy are all gone this time,” he added.

He pointed out the competition, especially among the private schools, most often exceeded all limits on account of the fact that the result of the SSLC examination was the prime factor that contributed to the prestige of the institution.

Those securing 90 to 100 per cent marks in a particular subject will be awarded the `A+' grade and students scoring 30 to 39 per cent, the `D+', grade, he added.

He also said the government would take steps to supply Xerox copies of answer sheets to students from next academic year.

Bar code would be introduced for all subjects to streamline the examination system, he added.
