Kamalakara Kameswara Rao, the name conjures up a mist mythology and a neat script, clarity in presentation and novelty in narration.

As a journalist working for Krishna Patrika, he won the laurels of HM Reddy through his critical analysis, Rao entered Telugu film industry as an assistant to KV Reddy and made a mark as the best screenplay writer.

Starting from Gundamma Katha till Bala Bharatam, Kameswara Rao had directed many films on social, historical and mythological themes.

It was Rao who introduced Pingali Nagendra Rao to films and Vijaya Films banner made most of the talented writer.

He is always remembered as a good screenplay writer and a good director of mythology film like Sri Krishna Tulabharam, Maha Kavi Kalidasu, Maha Manthri Timmarusu and the like.

The director was born in 1911 and this is the centenary year.
