What a gala day to celebrate! What a smashing feat achieved by the greatest ever athlete of India! Scripting a history by bagging a gold in Javelin Throw, Subedar Neeraj Chopra has made every Indian raise his shirt collars in pride. 

Neeraj cracked it with 87.03m in his first attempt while he made the Indians elated, bettering his performance with 87.58m in his second attempt.

Crossing the old records and setting up new records is something like a cakewalk for Neeraj Chopra. He was the gold medalist at 2016's IAAF U20 World Championship while he became the flag bearer for India in the opening ceremony of 2018's Asian Games in which he pocketed another gold with his usual styling. 

This 23-year-old farmer's son and Haryana lad is the second Indian who has won the gold in any individual events of the Olympic Games till date. Previously, ace shooter Abhinav Bhindra made it with 2008's Olympic Games. 

Furthermore, Neeraj Chopra happens to be the only Indian who won the gold medal in Athletics.

Naturally, Neeraj is showered with the wishes of the millions with his rarest of the rare achievement. And let's hope, Neeraj would keep winning more golds for India in the Olympics and the World Championships in the future, establsihing himself 'The Emperor of Athletics'.
