Telangana State Film Chamber Of Commerce (TSFCC) came with a special request asking Tollywood producers who are planning to release their films on OTTs to wait till October 2021. Murali Mohan chaired the meeting and decided to come with the following request and felt that films shouldn't be released in OTTs till the theatres are open. They said if theatres remain shut in October also, then they will not stop them from releasing the films in OTTs.

TSFCC held a meeting with the Exhibitors and after intense discussions came with the special request. TSFCC also decided to hold another meeting with all the members of the Producers Council on 7th of July. TSFCC also requested the AP government regarding ticket prices saying low ticket prices will be detrimental for the exhibitors and theatres.

But with doubts hovering around the opening of theatres and fears among people over the third wave of the corona, producers feel that even if theatres are open, people may not come to see the films and this may result in huge losses. So many producers are inking deals with OTTs which are offering fancy amounts for the films. This also enables them to save themselves from increasing debts and interest rates. Under these circumstances, the question is are there any takers for TSFCC's request.
