Chiranjeevi's Vijetha not the original title

Mega Star Chiranjeevi scored a hit with Vijetha directed by A.Kondandarami Reddy. The film turned out to be a classic. Chiranjeevi till that film used to do six songs,three-fight films and many of his fans expected Vijetha to be in similar lines.

However, Vijetha turned out to be a surprise pack. Chiranjeevi got a good role in Vijetha after Subhalekha. The film original was a Bengali film directed by Anil Ganguly. The film was later made into Saheb with Anil Kapoor in the lead.

Though the film became a hit in Bengali and Hindi, the makers made a lot of changes in Telugu. They had doubts whether Vijetha will be successful as Chiranjeevi played the soft role. But Chiranjeevi giving the green signal and people accepting Chiranjeevi in the soft role is a complete surprise.

Bhanupriya attracted as the heroine and Sarada played the lead role. Jandhyala who settled as the director came forward to write dialogues after listening to the story. While two songs from the Saheb was taken as it is, Chakravarthy scored tunes for the other four songs. The entire shooting was done in Mumbai.

The makers planned to name the title Chinababu but with Chiranjeevi asking the makers to name the title as per the story, producer Aravind gave the responsibility to Jyothi Chitra readers. With most of the readers suggesting the name of Vijetha, the makers fixed Vijetha as the title. Aravind's sons Arjun and Venkatesh also starred in the film.
