Right from the beginning of his assuming the charges as the CM, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy paid an outstanding attention towards the Education System. It is he who brought fifth many educational reforms such as converting all schools into English medium, developing the infrastructure under Nadu-Nedu scheme, effecting implementation of Ammavodi, Vidya Kanuka etc.

And now, the CM has directed the education department's officials to adopt the National Education Policy (NEP-2020) as it is. The system makes the Education System converted from 10+2 pattern to 5+3+3+4. As such, the school education extends to 15 years which is huge. Checkout the following for more details.

FOUNDATION SCHOOLS (5 YEARS OF EDUCATION): Pre primary 1, pre primary 2, preparatory class 1, 1st class and 2nd classes come under this category.

PRELIMINARY SCHOOLS (3 YEARS OF EDUCATION): 3rd, 4th and 5th classes fall in this category of schools.

MIDDLE SCHOOLS (3 YEARS OF EDUCATION): 6th, 7th and 8th classes come under this category.

SECONDARY SCHOOLS (4 YEARS OF EDUCATION): Classes from 9th to 12th fall under this category.

The government, however, has to face many challenges to implement the system as a big number of teachers need to be recruited while lakhs of teachers should be promoted to their next cadres. Moreover, the shifting of schools and their mapping is also being done which require construction of thousands of new classrooms and buildings across the state. Above all, the students and the teachers need to accustom to the new system of education.
