Andhra In Lockdown Mode

With the rise in COVID cases across the country and across the state, chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has directed for partial lockdown in Andhra Pradesh which will be in effect from May 5. 

As per the new rule, shops will function between 6am to 12pm and section 144 remain in place during this time. However, other emergency services will operate as usual.  YS Jagan took the decision in the review meeting of COVID.

It may be recalled that just like the neighboring state, Andhra Pradesh also implemented night curfew from April 24 from 10pm to 5am. On May 2,  the state for the first time ever recorded over 20,000 COVID cases, while Chittoor recorded the maximum followed by East Godavari, Srikakulam, Kurnool and Guntur.
