Even though Prashanth Varma delivered a flop with his last film Kalki, there were good expectations on his third film Zombie Reddy, given it is first film on corona, zombie and promotional content too was promising. Teja Sajja hoped to score his first hit as hero and producer Raj Sekhar Varma spent high budget keeping all the belief on Prashanth Varma.

But, all their calculations went wrong as Zombie Reddy is turning out to be a disaster at box office. The film in its first weekend failed to collect even decent numbers and it’s highly impossible to recover the budget with all the negative talk on the project. In fact, star heroes films too witness a bit of fall in collections in week days and the situation will be far worse for a debutant’s film that too with negative reviews.

Huge budget spent on the project is one of the major reasons for the utter flop result. If it was made on a moderate budget, it would have at least ended up as an average grosser. Spending lavishly on a first timer is definitely a suicidal decision. Zombie Reddy’s flop result is an eye opener for producers who invest heavy amounts irrespective of market value of the hero.

On the other hand, the makers got good deals for OTT and remake rights. But, it was Prashanth Varma who with over confidence on the project had stopped his producer from signing any deals before the release. They even rejected huge offer from Warangal Srinu for theatrical rights for Nizam. It's a own release by the producer through GA2 and UV. With the flop result, they may not good good deals for OTT rights now.

Hope, Prashanth Varma who was slammed for making his previous film Kalki with massive budget and repeating the same for Zombie Reddy should come up with a subject that requires decent budget.
