OTT Review: Super Over

Allu Aravind’s Aha comes with their original titled Super Over starring Naveen Chandra, Chandini Chowdary, Rekendu Mouli and Ajay. Sudheer Varma produced the film, while his former associate Praveen Varma directed it. It may be mentioned here that, director Praveen Varma died in a car accident while shooting for the film.

Super Over deals with the subject of cricket betting and how Hawala business runs. Naveen, Chandini and Mouli are best friends. In desperate need of money, Naveen takes the route of betting to earn quick bucks. He wins 1.7 Cr at the end of a cricket series and things go haywire when they go to collect the money.

Naveen Chandra, Chandini Chowdary and Rekendu Mouli played their parts aptly. Ajay is good as corrupt police officer, wherein Praveen is cool as a bookie. Praveen Varma chose a contemporary story, but there were many loopholes in the script.

Although the film starts on an interesting note, things go on the blink, after Ajay makes entry. The narration appears in the lines of Swamy Ra Ra with different setup. The film ends on a suspicious note giving a thrill feel.

All in all, Super Over is a time pass and one time watch film!
