OTT And ATT: How Many Will Survive?

Corona pandemic crashed the dreams of many and affected all sectors. Film industry is the most affected and it is not clear when normalcy returns and one can see releases in theatres. In the midst of all this, everyone started looking for alternatives. For those filmmakers who wrapped up shooting of their projects, OTTs came as a boon.

People also started appreciating as they can watch the latest films from their houses with minimum expenses. To cash in to the OTT craze, few are coming up with their own Any Time Theatre (ATT) and releasing their films. Shreyas Media started their own personal app Shreyas ET, while Ram Gopal Varma created his own RGV World Theatre.

Drawing inspiration from them, few celebrities and corporates already entered the OTT and ATT platforms. Shakeela also released her film online. Rama Satyanarayana announced that he is creating his own ATT named Bheemavaram Talkies. Raja Ravindra revealed that he is set to start an OTT with his friend and hunting for stories for web content. Director Teja is also creating his personal online theatre.

Now reports are coming that a popular real estate group in Hyderabad is planning to start their own ATT. Many more may enter into the OTT and ATT business and it has to be seen how many will survive the cutthroat competition.
