20 Years for Badri: Pre Release & First Day Report

It was exactly 20 years go on the same date and month, Power Star Pawan Kalyan's Badri was released. As is known, This is the debut film of top director Puri Jagannadh. The film ended up a blockbuster and ran 100 days directly in 40 centres. Interestingly, the film's reports were something fishy on the first day and before its release. Here we go with those reports. 

PRE RELEASE TALK AMONG FAN GROUPS INCLUDING MEGA FANS: The film is going to be an utter disaster. Pawan Kalyan will die in the climax. In the second half Pawan Kalyan suffers from cancer and dies in the climax. 

FIRST DAY TALK (AFTER THE END OF FAN SHOWS): Huge disaster. Don't know why Pawan Kalyan accepted this project. New director Puri spoiled the project. Especially, second half is atrocious. First song ok, Bangalakhathamlo song is good. Chikitha song is a huge let down. Triangular love sentiment song tested our patience. On a whole, it's a 'Two Weeks Movie.' (In those days two weeks means a disaster.) 

ACTUALLY, WHAT HAPPENED LATER?: The film kept on running with packed houses for so many days. Both mega fans and anti fans were dumbstruck with the film's positive response of general audience. Gradually, they understood the facts that confrontation scene between Pawan Kalyan and Prakash Raj was outstanding. Entire first half was superbly made. Above all, 'Chikitha' song, which was initially discarded by them, turned a huge advantage for the film. Pawan Kalyan's cowboy getup in the song was imitated by many fans in subsequent days.
