In the history of 88 years, Tollywood formed a scaffold for various new trends at times. Movie folks embraced some trends while many more trends were discorded by them.

Right now, Tollywood movie makers are showing a sort of fascination for making Pan Indian Films. Maybe the runaway successes of Baahubali series films and KGF Chapter 1 prompted them to bankroll more Pan Indian Films. However, unless proper care is taken in the genre of the films, heroes may lose their home ground (Telugu states). Checkout the following examples for clarity.

Young Rebel Star Prabhas is lauded the pan Indian star by the media as his Baahubali and Saaho scored hits in Bollywood. Per Contra, Saaho disaster result in Telugu states and the genres of Prabhas's forthcoming projects make the star's real well-wishers worrisome. If the truth be told, movie fans at ground level and in B and C centres speak about the blockbusters of Telugu nativity rather than Pan Indian Films that suit to the tastes of North people. Saaho stands out the best example for it.

In sooth, there is no need to impress North Indians particularly. Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan did a good number of Pan Indian Films. Yet, they were not that adored by the pan Indian audiences as the heroes of local areas. Having figured out this fact, Megastar Chiranjeevi stopped working for Pan Indian Films in spite of being maintained a good success percentage with three of his films released in 1990s.

In what could be said a sensible attempt is that Megastar ensured Telugu nativity not to be missed in Sye Raa Narasimhareddy. The film might have been bombed at other parts of India but then, Chiranjeevi got succeeded in conquering his home ground, yet again.

Rajamouli's Baahubali was made with a universal theme which didn't disturb the tastes of Telugu audience. Likewise, Rajamouli's new film RRR is being made on the life histories of two great Telugu freedom fighters Alluri Seetharamaraju and Komuram Bheem. In spite of the genre, the film is carrying great buzz at Pan Indian level and thanks to Rajamouli's brand value that added an ultimate hype on the project in every nook and cranny.

Having studied the results and pre release statuses of above films, upcoming film teams like Pawan Kalyan-Krish combo film, Prabhas-Radhakrishna film, Prabhas-Nag Ashwin films and Vijay Deverakonda-Puri Jagannadh's film should take wise decisions on their films' genres.
