The existence of theatres appears more difficult of late as the video-on-demand era has turned out to be an exciting affair for the movie buffs. The industry people are considering the digital revolution as a threat to the box office and opine that it’s disrupting the movie business to a great extent, especially the overseas trade.

Tollywood filmmakers are including a clause not to stream films within 5 to 7 weeks after theatrical release, while signing deals with OTT Platforms like Amazon Prime, Netflix and Hot Star.

SS Rajamouli who is well aware of the negative impact of digital streaming is putting a condition for his ongoing film RRR with young tiger NTR and mega power star Ram Charan.

As is known, demand is huge for theatrical, digital and other rights of RRR. But, Rajamouli is not in a hurry to close the business deals so early.

He is said to be demanding high price for digital rights, besides putting the cause of not to premiere the film in OTT platforms within 2 months after the film’s release.

Meanwhile, reports are coming that, RRR would postpone to October. The film was initially planned for release on June 30th.
