Mega Star Chiranjeevi's upcoming patriotic entertainer Sye Raa, a biopic on freedom fighter Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy is racing for a spectacular release across the world on October 2nd, offering grand treat on Gandhi Jayanthi.

Even as makers are busy promoting the film, the descendants of freedom fighter Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy started protesting in front of Chiranjeevi's house demanding financial compensation.

They alleged that Ram Charan and Surender Reddy after enquiring about Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy and shooting in their village Uyyalawada, promised compensation from Chiranjeevi but then they went back on their promise.

They went on to lodge a complaint against Ram Charan accusing him of offering a paltry compensation of Rs 50crs for 23 family members. What is surprising is while few family members are protesting, few of them invited Chiranjeevi and Ram Charan for felicitation. It is a known fact that the family members are fighting a legal battle in the High Court claiming to be the heirs of Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy.

This brings to the question, whether freedom fighters family members, kin should be compensated and why should anyone compensate. Many filmmakers across the country made films on freedom fighters Bhagat Singh, Mahatma Gandhi, Subhash Chandra Bose, Alluri Seetha Rama Raju, Tanguturi Prakasam Pantulu etc. But during those times none of the family members demanded compensation.

Many freedom fighters sacrificed their lives in a selfless manner for the freedom of the country and they never considered themselves that they belong to one particular caste, sect, creed, state or religion. People of the country revere and respect them a lot and they show their respect in different ways by erecting statues, making films or documentaries.

The family members need not to be compensated by anyone for doing so as freedom fighters are not their private property but they are the heroes of the nation. True that family members of freedom fighters and most of them live in a pitiable state and one cannot blame people of the country for the same.

The governments should take due care of the family members of the freedom fighters. But governments too give special concessions to the freedom fighters first family members and not to the descendants. So it is not right on the part of the descendants of Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy family members for protesting against the makers of Sye Raa.

Everyone should be proud and Ram Charan is right when he said he doesn't want Narasimha Reddy to get confined to one region as he was a national hero.
