Tollywood completes the second quarter in 2019 and let us see whether the industry fared any better compared to the first quarter, which had only one blockbuster in form of F2 (Fun & Frustration).

April: The month witnessed Majili and movie lovers got attracted as Naga Chaitanya and Samantha romanced for the first time on screen after marriage. The film won the appreciation of not only movie lovers but critics. Chaitu and Sams with their emotional performance turned Majili into a blockbuster.

April turned out to be a good month with Sai Dharam Tej came out of his string of disasters with Chitralahari. Though the film came with a routine story, it turned out to be a decent and average entertainer.

The month turned out to be even bigger with Nani's Jersey. The film got rave reviews from the critics and movie lovers alike. But despite the positive talk from all quarters, Jersey couldn't set cash counters ringing. It turned out to be a decent hit.

May: The month witnessed Mahesh Babu's milestone film Maharshi which opened to mixed reviews and many felt that the film story was nothing new and a mixture of Mahesh's earlier films Srimanthudu and Bharat Ane Nenu. But Mahesh's presence turned the film into a blockbuster. Despite the makers drawing flak from all quarters for coming with fake numbers boasting about the collections, the film crossed more than 100crs at the box office.

June: The last month in second quarter this year witnessed the release of small films. Naveen Polishetty's Agent Sai Srinivas Athreya is doing well with decent collections and turning out to be an average grosser.

Similarly Brochevarevarura with Sree Visnhu, Rahul Ramakrishna and Priyadarshi attracted everyone. Biopic on Mallesham won the appreciation of all but failed to click at the box office.

Films like ABCD, Sita, Falaknuma Das, Kalki failed left without trace at the box office.
