Every year, a lot of South Indian movies are dubbed into Hindi and are aired on local Hindi channels. South Indians and North Indian Hindi speakers have common interests which Bollywood does not cater to. So, demand for South films is increasing gradually. Many south hit films are remade in Bollywood and they became sensational hits there as well. Most recently, Kabir Singh, Arjun Reddy remake, is also doing wonders at box office.

However, for many of North Indians, there’s only one industry and that is Bollywood. According to them, South films do not get much recognition like how Bollywood films are appreciated. When our Rana Daggubati was puzzled about the same in an interview, he didn’t react in a normal way. He hit back strongly. Currently, the video of Rana’s fitting reply to a female anchor is going viral in social media.

“I grew up having a very stereotypical view of movies made down South until my father forced me to watch Baahubali. I had no clue what it was at that time. I went then and staring at the screen, I was like 'Is this real?’ Do you think Baahubali changed the way rest of India views the South Indian Films?”

Rana in reply said, “I was just amazed at how dumb Indians are about the other states. Ultimately, storytelling is the same be it a Telugu film or Tamil film or English film. If I speak in Telugu, It becomes a Telugu Film. If someone speaks in English, it becomes an English film. That's exactly what happens anywhere in the world. But, we in our heads create division- this is a Telugu Industry, that's a Tamil Industry. Films of Rajinikanth are dubbed in all languages. Which means, there is actually no boundary to this unless you make one.”

Netizens are heaping praises on Rana for shutting the anchor’s mouth with his fitting reply.
