Indian Skipper Virat Kohli expressed his sympathy for Australian Cricketer Steven Smith and apologized on behalf of the crowd after the former Australia captain was heckled by the India dominated crowd at the Oval, during India Vs Australia match of ongoing World Cup 2019.

Kohli was batting when Smith was sent to field on the boundary at one stage of India's innings. Spectators near Smith started chanting, "Cheater!" In between overs, Kohli walked towards that stand, waved to the fans and gestured them to clap at Smith and not boo him. Smith was shown thanking Kohli after that incident.

Other than Smith, Indian fans also abused other person who came to watch the match. However, this time, neither Virat nor any other came in support of this person, because he is none other than Vijay Mallya who’s facing allegations of fraud and cheating.

While Vijay Mallya waited behind at the Hobbs gate for his car to arrive, the angry fans hurled abuse at him as his mother walked ahead. The vociferous fans chanted "Mallya chor hai". Some fans also shouted "Modi aa raha hai (PM Narendra Modi will not spare you)". He was abused with choicest words in Hindi as well.

Earlier in the day, Mallya made it clear that he was there to watch a cricket match when he arrived early in the morning for the game.
