When director Bharat Kamma approached him with the script of Dear Comrade, he came to a conclusion that it is a story with universal-appeal that can work in other languages as well. How far Vijay involved in making of Dear Comrade? There were reports that, Vijay Devarakonda forced his makers to go for re-shoots, as he was discontented over few scenes. He is said to be looking after post-production activities along with his director Bharat.
