Jersey Inspired By Cricket God

Natural Star Nani' cricket thriller Jersey directed by Gowtham Tinnanuri is going great guns at the box office. The entire cast and crew is over the moon with the terrific response the film is getting from all quarters.

Many felt that the film is inspired by Delhi cricketer Raman Lamba who after playing power packed innings for Team India, lost his life in a tragic manner getting hit by a ball and going into coma.

Meanwhile, director Gowtham Tinnanuri made interesting revelations. He said, “After Malli Raava, I thought of doing a film in new genre. During that time I heard commentator Harsha Bhogle's words about Sachin Tendulkar. He said ‘there are many great cricketers like Sachin in the country. However, Sachin became great due to his behavior'. His words of there are many great cricketers like Sachin caught my attention. I penned a script based on it. Everyone remembers successful cricketers but none bothers about those who work as hard as Sachin but unable to come to limelight due to various issues. I told the same in Jersey.

Since I have been watching cricket from my childhood, I did not do any research. But I took lot of care while penning the story. I worked on it even before Malli Raava. I never had Nani in mind when I readied the script. Only later I thought of the suitable actor. The story was with me for 2-3 years. It is one of my favorite scripts.

Except for Nani and Vishwant, all are cricket players. We trained them in acting. While shooting cricket scenes, we took lot of care. We shot one minute scenes for 2-3 days. Expectations will be always high on Nani. Since it was just my second film, I couldn't judge my experience. However Nani's super confidence scared me about the result."

As per a buzz, Gowtham Tinnanuri will next direct young tiger NTR who appreciated the entire team of Jersey with a post in social media.
