Kangana Ranaut who is getting ready to pay floral tributes to India’s freedom fighter Jhansi Lakshmi Bai, with a biopic on her titled Manikarnika-The Queen of Jhansi, this Republic Day, releasing the film on Jan 25th, made sensational allegations and shocking claims ahead of the film’s release.

It is known that Kangana took over the direction mantle when Krish decided to concentrate on NTR biopic undertaken prestigiously by Natasimha Balakrishna and when Manikarnika producers and writer Vijayendra Prasad felt that they should have more war scenes. It is known that Krish who remained silent till NTR biopic Kathanayakudu release, during the promos shocked all saying Manikarnika makers twisted the history and he wouldn't like to speak on it as it would result in undue controversy and as it is the film belongs to him.

Kangana during her movie promotions said, "I do feel there are people waiting for me to fail. I'm just a new director on the block, what's the big deal? I see there is a lot of sexism involved in this- a woman, doing an epic action film and directing it. That's something even Hollywood was struggling with When 'Wonder Woman' came people were like 'oh a woman director making an action film' but when the film worked well, they all praised a woman pulling this off. There is clearly a deep rooted sexism."

She however added, "Even though I can realize or feel, I can never be like them or feel through them. I understand their cynicism but I can never be them. Personally, I've never waited for anyone to fail. That's why I think I could do what I did in my life."
