Shankar continued saying, "Before finalizing Akshay Kumar for the negative role, we planned to cast Kamal Haasan and thus delight fans by showing Kamala and Rajini in one film. Myself and dialogue wrier Jayamohan discussed about it and then met Kamal Haasan. However Kamal showed more interest in doing Bhaarateeyudu 2. So we finalized Akshay kumar."

2.0 which is the sequel for Robot, stars Rajinikanth in lead, Amy Jackson as heroine and Akshay Kumar as an antagonist.
